According to psychologist David Comer Kidd, fiction does not just simulate a social experience, it is a social experience. Reading fiction can stimulate connectivity in the brain that will help the reader better understand other people in real life. Reading feeds the mind. Our brains on fiction give us enhanced performance. What good news--not that we needed an excuse for devouring books.
